FONTANA, Calfronia -- Bobby Dotter drove the #08 People Against Drugs/Puma Tools.com Chevrolet to a 15th-place finish in the American Racing Wheels 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the California Speedway. It marks the 12th time Dotter has finished among top-15 finish during the 2002 season.
"We had a good truck today," Dotter said. "We tried some new stuff with the suspension geometry and it really seemed to work well. Unfortunately, we lost a lap on a green flag pit stop when we had some lugnuts hang up, and we just couldn't get caught back up. It is shame because we had a truck that was just as fast as the guys right in front of us, but they were a lap ahead.
"We picked up a few points on Norick, but not as much as we were hoping for," he continued. "We need to get about 60 points a race the last two races to get the next position, but its not impossible. We should have a really strong truck in Phoenix. We have a great motor waiting to go, and we are taking the same truck we ran so well with at Martinsville, Milwaukee, and South Boston. We need a little help, but we are going to do our best to do our part and run well."
Dotter sits 14th in NCTS point standings, 91 points behind 13th-place Lance Norick. He is 156 points ahead of Matt Crafton who sits 15th in the standings. He is 761 points behind leader Mike Bliss.
Dotter and the People Against Drugs Racing team will be in action in the Chevrolet Silverado 150 at the Phoenix International Raceway on November 8. The event will be broadcast live on ESPN at 5 pm ET, and can be heard live on NASCAR Radio on XM Satellite Radio and MRN Radio affiliates nationwide.
