Results of Bud Pole qualifying for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chevy Silverado 150 at Phoenix International Raceway follow.
Rick Crawford, hoping to cut a 68-point championship deficit with two races remaining on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, won the Bud Pole Friday for tomorrow's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chevy Silverado 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. Crawford's Circle Bar Motel & RV Ford qualified four spots higher than championship leader Mike Bliss, who'll start fifth in the IWX Motor Freight/Knights Inn Chevrolet. Crawford, who posted a lap speed of 128.329 mph around Phoenix International Raceway's one-mile oval, won his first pole in May at Dover International Speedway. Crawford's good fortune spelled disappointment for Raybestos Rookie Bill Lester, whose Dodge held the provisional pole for much of the qualifying session. Lester's 128.324 effort fell one one-thousandth of a second short but was good enough for the Oakland, Calif rookie's first front row-starting berth. NASCAR Winston Cup Series visitor Kevin Harvick qualified third, followed by Terry Cook and Bliss. The qualifying results:
