SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - Drivers in the top 20 of the points standings who moved up two positions following the June 21 race included John Kinder, Craig Rayburn, Billy Kann and Lance Wade. Three Drivers moved up one position - Scott Gaylord, Kevin Culver and Dan Obrist.
*** In the six regular NASCAR Winston West Series races this season, there have been six different Busch Pole winners - Butch Gilliland, Sean Woodside, Gary Smith, Gary Collins, Sammy Potashnick and David Green.
*** Smith has the highest average finish in the series. He has an average finish of 3.2 in the six regular races.
*** Smith continues to be the only driver in the series to finish in the top 10 in all six regular races.
*** Woodside and Smith are nearly even in the number of laps led this season. Smith has had his Chevrolet out front for 237 laps, while Woodside has had his Pontiac in the lead for 236 laps.
*** Smith has completed the most laps in the six regular races, meanwhile. He has run 949 of the 950 possible.
*** Chevrolet has extended its slight lead in the battle for the Manufacturers' Championship in the series. Chevrolet leads with 44 points and four wins over Ford with 40 points and two wins. Pontiac trails with 30 points, followed by Buick with 12.
*** Two NASCAR Winston West Series drivers will be celebrating birthdays soon. Craig Rayburn will turn 34 on July 3 and Gary Smith will turn 29 on July 6.
