CARSON CITY, Nevada -- For over two weeks now, Champion Motor Speedway race fans have been flocking into the Carson Mall in record numbers.
The infamous (two-seater) "Handsome" Harry Gant #33 NASCAR Winston Cup stockcar has been on display since December 9, along with a chance to win an (all-events) VIP family season pass.
But that's not all - because the VIP CMS gift package comes wrapped in horsepower. It includes five white-knuckle laps around the high-banked 1/3-mile asphalt oval in the #33 Skoal Bandit Winston Cup racecar!
Carson Mall manager Irene "Tweetie" Bobenstein stated that the interest has been incredible. She estimates the foot traffic at the shopping mall has more then doubled because of the NASCAR Winston Cup racecar.
The entry box has also been filling up rapidly as more then 1000 entries have been deposited so far.
The drawing will be held live at the Carson Mall this Friday, December 27, at 10AM. The Carson Mall is located at 1313 S. Carson Street (Hwy 395) in Carson City, Nevada.
According to CMS General Manager Jeb Onweiler, area race fans will have plenty to look forward to next season at the historic asphalt oval.
The all-new Western Modifieds, TagTeam Bombers, Hustlin' Hornets, Queen Bees, and the S'CoolBus Sponsor Bombers are scheduled to debut on the high-banks.
Also in the works for 2003 will be a wide variety of family-oriented activities including: Earnhardt Memorial Park, Bicycle Races, Kids Klub, and a new non-smoking family seating section in turn one.
Back for more Saturday night thrills, will be the Super LateModels, Limited LateModels, Street Stocks, Legends, and the Bandelleros.
