STARTING GRID SOUTHWEST TOUR RACE

Schrader Leads 42 Featherlite Southwest Series Drivers to Green

Phoenix, Ariz. (February 1, 2003) Ken Schrader finds himself in familiar territory as he sits on the pole for the NASCAR Elite Division, Featherlite Southwest Series "Southwest Series 100" at Phoenix Int'l Raceway on Sunday afternoon. Joining Schrader on the front row will be Benny Gordon, a regular on the Kodak Southwest Series. Tim Schendel from the International Truck and Engine Midwest Series will start tenth, and rounding out the 'national' field is Rick Suran in the 38th starting position.

Jason Jefferson of Yakima, Wash. qualfied the first Dodge Intrepid NASCAR Elite Division competition in the 41st starting position after finishing the non-qualifers race in the third position.

The "Southwest Series 100" is scheduled to take the green at 12 noon MST on Sunday, February 2 to kick off the first of 14 races on the Featherlite Southwest Series schedule.
