Paul Radisich making his debut in the Team Betta Electrical car 65 approached the qualifying session today with great confidence, knowing that his race car had the pace to enable him to stay with the front-runners, particularly after setting the third fastest time in practice earlier in the day.

Radisich went on to say that although this is only the second occasion I have driven the car, I really do feel at one with it.

I am also confident about my ability to turn my fortunes around this year. The prospects are great with a terrific team and a car that is equal to any of the other campaigners in the event.

Qualifying the car amongst the lead cars today proved difficult for Radisich, as the track temperatures soared this afternoon the car lost grip to the rear wheels, making it impossible to constantly transfer the power to the ground and losing valuable time with each qualifying lap.

Radisich posted a time of 2:00.465 placing him in 18th position on the grid for tomorrows race one event.

Although disappointing said Radisich, I am confident I can reclaim a front running position whilst keeping in mind that race one is only 10 laps of the Albert Park circuit, it will have to be all stops out from the fall of the flag.

This should make the event fast and exciting not only for the drivers but also for the viewing public as well he said.

Dean Canto in the second of the Team Betta Electrical cars experienced similar shortcomings with tyre grip, but is confident the minor adjustments made by the team will overcome the problem for race one.

Canto is also looking forward to the three races ahead of him this weekend and is excited about the prospects of having his first full season of V8 Supercars ahead of him.####
