MARK MEECH MASTER CAJON SPEEDWAY

EL CAJON, California -- Mark Meech of nearby La Mesa, Calif. wowed his hometown fans as he cruised to victory in the COORS Light "125" Saturday night at Cajon Speedway in race #3 for the NASCAR Elite Division, Featherlite Southwest Series. Dan Holtz finished second, with Steve Belletto picking up his best career finish in third. Eric Holmes and Jim Pettit II rounded out the top five finishers.

Meech led all 125 laps in route to his second career series victory. The race was slowed four times for 40 laps of caution and took 57 minutes, 18 seconds to complete. Craig Raudman won the Bud Pole, and former series champion Bryan Germone picked the Powerade Mover of the Race Award for 7th place finish after starting 22nd.

Auggie Vidovich Jr. maintains his points lead after a sixth place finish, with 2002 Series champion Eddy McKean holding down the second spot in the standings. Germone sits third with Eric Holmes, and Dan Holtz rounding out the top five.####
