Tom Matthew lead the NASCAR Weekly Series Super Stocks to the green flag in their 50 main event. When the green flew, Matt Murphy and Rob Angus brought out a quick red flag with a wreck in turn one. Once the mess was sorted out, Matthew brought the field back to the green for the restart. He held the lead for the first two laps, until he was passed by Matt Murphy for the lead. Murphy held onto the lead while John Zaretzke was charging through the pack from his number 7 starting position. Zaretzke grabbed the lead on lap 11, just before Tom Moriarity hit Shane Harding in turn 1 bringing out the first yellow flag of the night. While Zaretzke was easily holding the lead, Murphy and Doug Davidson were fighting back and forth for second. They exchanged second several times before the yellow came back out at lap 21 for a spin by Fred Hall in turn 3. Zaretzke was leading at the halfway point, with Davidson second, Murphy third, and Tom Matthew running fourth. Davidson held second until lap 42, when Matt Murphy briefly took second from him. Davidson and Murphy raced side by side with Davidson finally retaking second on the next lap. Shane Harding was charging hard, racing first with Matthew for fourth and then side by side with Murphy for third. Zaretzke easily took the checkered leading 40 laps, for his second win in a row. Davidson took second and the hard charging Harding took third. In the NASCAR Mini-Stocks, a spin by Matt Stone was the reason for the first lap red flag, on a night filled with first lap incidents. Troy Selby brought the field to the green flag of their 30 lap feature. Stacey Alseth quickly dashed to the lead from his outside third row starting position. On the first lap, Douglas Hinds and Selby tangled in the fourth turn with both cars sliding into the front straight wall. Hinds was able to continue, but Selby was out for 10 laps. Alseth only held the lead for two laps, when she was overtaken by Nat Barber. On lap 7, Scott LaCross blew past Ben Smith and Michael Johnston to take second. He held this position through the next 22 laps with minor challenges by Matt Stone and Hinds. Barber and LaCross raced hard the final 12 laps, with Barber holding off two inside moves by LaCross on turns two and four of the final lap. Barber took the checkered by less than a car length in front of LaCross. Bobby DeYoung took third. The night for NASCAR Randy's Ring & Pinion Bomber's got off to a very fast start with Jason Fraser setting a new track record of 19. 018 in time trials. However, Craig Szweda brought the 18 car field to the green for the 30 main event. Szweda took and held the lead for the first 7 laps. On lap 8, he was tracked down by Mark Moulaison, who had surged forward after starting on the inside of the fourth row. Dirk Kruiswyk followed Moulaison into second place, with Szweda dropping back. This position remained solid until Steve Ptacek brought out the only yellow of the race on lap 25. This allowed the field to catch up to Moulaison, who had opened a large gap between himself and Kruiswyk. On the restart, Naima Lang, was able to take advantage of the grouping and quickly moved into second place. Moulaison was able, once again, to pull out to a several car length advantage and was able to take the checkered flag. Lang was second and Kruiswyk brought up third. The FEAR Extreme Contact Figure 8 race was brought to the start by Mike Buse. Nick Nelson beat everyone back to the line to lead the first lap. Nelson held onto the lead through the first 9 laps, when the first red flag of the race was thrown. The red was brought out by Mike Buse getting nailed in the rear corner panel at the intersection. On the restart, Perry Huffman surged to the lead, only to be caught by Don Teel on the very next lap. With lots of traffic at the intersection, Teel only held the lead for 2 laps before relinquishing it to Troy Simianer on lap 13. Simianer held onto the lead for the final 12 laps taking the feature victory. Teel held on to take second and Ben Raynes surged forward to take third. Rick Shaver held the pole for the start of the FEAR Super Figure 8 thirty lap main event. Don Cralle, starting in the second position, took the early lead and held it for the first seven laps. At lap eight, John 'The Cowboy' Carlson surged to the lead from his outside fifth row starting position. The only red flag of the race came out on lap 14 when Ryan Gunderson spun at the start/finish line blocking the center of the track. Carlson lost the lead to Michael Hays on lap 22, who quickly lost it to Steve Peters the very next lap. Peters and Carlson raced for the lead, with Carlson able to reclaim it on lap 27. Carlson went on to take the win over second place Hays, and third place Doug Delfel. Racing returns to Evergreen Speedway next Saturday night with the first Demolition Derby of the year. In addition, the FEAR Super Figure 8's and Extreme Contact Figure 8's will race. There will be more excitement with Double Decker and School Bus Figure 8 racing. Also, included will be a Roll Over contest. The night will close with Evergreen Speedway's first Fireworks Show of the year.
