SPARTA KY (5-9-03) Frank Kimmel, with a speed of 168.856 mph, won the Old Milwaukee Pole for The Channel 5-205 Friday afternoon at Kentucky Speedway. It was Kimmel's 29th career ARCA RE/MAX Series pole award overall and 13th on a superspeedway.

"This is kind of like my home track and we expect to do real well when we come here," said Kimmel. "We put a lot of pressure on ourselves. We knew that there was a lot of strong competition coming for this race. Kyle (Busch) and the Hendrick guys kicked our butt at Nashville and we knew that we had to come back and do everything that we could."

Brownsburg, Indiana driver Matt Hagans, in the Eagle Creek Aviation Dodge, posted his career-best RE/MAX Series qualifying run after winning the outside pole with a speed of 166.200 mph.

Brent Sherman, of N. Barrington, Illinois, qualified a career-best third in the Serta Mattress-Hickory Farms Ford with Kyle Busch in the Ditech.com Chevrolet in fourth. Seventeen-year-old Shelby Howard, in the Mack Trucks-Beck Dodge, completed the top-five qualifiers.

Saturday's ARCA RE/MAX Series Channel 5-205 at Kentucky Speedway will air live on SPEED Channel from 8 pm to 10 pm eastern####
