BAKERSFIELD, California -- The NASCAR Super Late Model "Coors Light Challenge Series" and the West Coast Pro Trucks will make their second appearance of 2003 at Mesa Marin Raceway this Saturday night.

After winning on April 19th, Dan Holtz, the 2001 Super Late Model champion is the current point leader coming into Saturday’s event.

Car count for the Super Late Models will double this weekend as an open practice on Friday drew cars from throughout California and Nevada. Three-time track champion Kevin Vernon will make his 2003 debut in the Super Late Model series on Saturday. Other entries include Ray Hooper, Jr. runner-up at the season opener and Jim Wulfenstein from Las Vegas, James and Tony Bruncati, 2001 Rookie of the Year, Kevin Thompson, and local drivers Johnny Antonino, Jeremy Salamacha, and Rick Grissom.

Aaron Stuadinger will lead the record field of the West Coast Pro Truck Series back to Mesa Marin Raceway. Stuadinger of Valencia, CA, set fast time and won the inaugural main event at Mesa Marin in 2003.

The Street Stocks, Auto Club 911 Race for Youth Series, and the ChevronTexaco High School Racing Series “Sponsor’s Race” will also be part of Saturday night’s racing line up.

Spectator gates open at 6pm, with racing underway at 7:30pm sharp. Adult ticket start at $10, with children ages 6 through 12 admitted free with a child coupon from participating Carl’s Jr.s.
