BURNS TAKES FIFTH CONSECUTIVE VICTORY

IRWINDALE, California -- Todd Burns took his fifth consecutive win in his Villa Roma Chevrolet on Saturday night. What a night it was for the Riverside boys. Burns took his 31st victory at Irwindale in the 50-lap AAA late model main and good friend David Gilliland took his second Southwest Tour win in the King Taco 150, both drivers led every lap.

Burns was quick time in qualifying with a lap of 19.205 and started on the pole in the 33-car field. He led every lap and was never challenged for the lead, took the checkered, and also took over the points lead. When asked by the track announcer what his secret was, Burns replied, "There's really no secret. We have a great chassis builder (Gary Collins), a great engine builder (Maropulos Racing Engines), and my team is awesome. They give me 150 percent every time out. My brother-in-law, James, puts his whole heart into this thing and it shows. Thanks to Villa Roma, Ron's Rear Ends, Maropulos Racing Engines, Gary Collins, Dalcorp Racing, and everyone that helps us."

Burns Motorsports race from April 19th will air this Thursday, June 12, on Fox Sports Net West 2 at 6:00 pm. They will return to Irwindale Speedway on June 21st. Congratulations to David Gilliland and the entire #11 Southwest Tour team!####
