TWO SCORE FIRST WIN AT HOT RACEWAY

ELM MOTT, Texas -- Jimmy Reid from Waco won his first pure stock feature Friday night at the Heart O' Texas Speedway. Whitney driver Ricky Ward ran second and Michael Robertson from McGregor was third.

Ben Ketteman from Pflugerville claimed his first feature win from a full field of IMCA modifieds. David Cureton from Bruceville finished a strong second, and Glen Allen from Austin took third.

Mike Greer from Garrison made the long trip from East Texas a successful one after winning the I-stock feature. Chad Estes from Troy placed third, and Eric Jones from Killeen, third.

Tommy Kirkpatrick from West used lap traffic to overtake Doug Andrews of Waco near the end of the race for the street stock feature win. Charlie Goodnight from Mart raced to third.

Brad Welborn from Allen fought off hard charging Claud Estes from Godley to take the IMCA sprint feature win. Elmer Morgan from Farmers Branch took third.

Chris Wills from Waco lead point leaders Chad Barber, also from Waco and Michael Haisler of Elm Mott to Victory Lane in the cruiser feature.

Roy Ewing from Moody inherited the SIMS/ULMA limited modified feature win after illegal heads were found on the first place finisher's car. Bennie Everhart from Red Oak moved up to second, and Mark McDaniel from Elm Mott gained third.

Jason Hoffman from Killeen, Shad Stevens from Troy, and Steve Moore from Axtell were the top three in the mini stock feature.

Brandon Hood from McGregor edged Nathan Sodek from Temple by a foot at the finish line in the junior mini stock feature. Dillon Smith from China Spring ran third.

Next Friday's race program will be highlighted by a DJ/Celebrity race and the annual Fireworks show. IMCA modified and I-stock will run heats and features. SIMS/ULMA limited modifieds, street stocks, mini stocks, pure stocks, cruisers, and junior mini stocks will run features only lined up by points. Gates open at 6:00 P.M.; racing begins at 8:00 P.M. The DJ/Celebrity race is schedules for about 10:00 P.M. and will be followed by the fireworks.
