ROCKLIN, California -- Qualifying on the outside of row four at the "Coors Light 200" Presented by NAPA, Jeff Jefferson and the #16 NAPA Auto Parts team finished the night in fourth place before a sold-out crowd at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. The NAPA car climbed as high as 3rd and was in the hunt for the leader when a brake problem developed with 15 laps to go. Dropping one position, Jefferson and the NAPA team held on and recorded a top five finish.
"We definitely had a 2nd place car," said Jefferson. "At lap 175 of the 200, we were closing on the 2nd place car and had the leader in sight. It just didn't work out. I want to thank the BMR team and my sponsor, NAPA AUTO PARTS. NAPA Seattle had over 500 store owners and customers at the race cheering us on. I really appreciate their support."
Jim Inglebright, driver of the #20 Jelly Belly Chevrolet and the team qualified on the outside of row 5. Costing him position, Inglebright got caught up in an incident between turn one and two on lap 21. After making a yellow flag pit stop, the Jelly Belly car made a charge towards the front and by lap 155 was running in fourth. A necessary green flag pit stop at lap 157 for fuel and tires put the #20 Jelly Belly Chevrolet a lap down. As the race neared completion, the hard charging leaders were able to get past the Jelly Belly car. Inglebright and the Jelly Belly team's night ended finishing 11th; 2 laps down. With six races completed and seven races to go in NASCAR Winston West's 50th Anniversary season, the Jelly Belly team runs in fifth position and only 39 points out of first.
The "Coors Light 200" Presented by NAPA will be televised on July 12th at 7am EST on SPEED. The next scheduled race in the NASCAR Grand National Division Winston West Series will be at Irwindale Speedway on July 26th.
