REED, MCMILLIN, HARVICK AND MARTIN CLICK!

MONROE, Washington -- Evergreen Speedway: Saturday – June 28th. Mark Reed’s first win of 2003 in the Royal Bath and Body Products Pontiac Grand Prix #3 was a real team effort. "I’d first like to thank all the Adair team members for their hard work, long hours and dedication, as well as all the members of the NASCAR Winston West family that have helped us reach our first win." said Tina Adair.

It seems that the planning and steady growth of combining a skilled veteran driver, with a savvy long time racer / crew chief, one of the best set-up men in the sport with a record holding engine builder has paid off. "I’ve heard more than a few comments about all the gray hair on our team. But I feel that experience was what I needed to get the job done."

Team Adair is a young team when you look at how long we have been together as a team. But individually the members are part of the fabric of years of racing. "Mark Reed is the driver because of his experience and skill. Tim McMillin our crew chief has been in all forms of racing in the western US for many years. Mike Harvick is one of those people whose reputation in the sport is almost larger than life. Kip Martin is more famous in drag racing that ovals, but still no stranger to racing engines that also have to turn left. Evergreen was the first time we got it all right at the same time." Tina added with a huge smile following Saturday night’s race.

"The team gave me a car that was fast and really fun to drive. It was a clean race, and one I’ll remember for years," said driver Mark Reed. "Kip Martin’s engine program has been waiting for the handling to catch up, and he promises that the newest engine has even more power," added Reed.

The team has already started the process of improving the chassis. "The program that Mike Harvick started a few weeks ago is just our base line. Mike feels we have more work to do," was the quick comment by crew chief Tim McMillin.

"Without a team effort in the pits and a good spotter we wouldn’t have been where we are now. That first win belongs to the whole team. The crew chief has to make the right calls to complete the whole picture. We had all the parts, driver, strategy, engine and set-up come together in Monroe," said Mike Harvick.

"Nobody told me racing was this much fun," said Tina Adair!####
