
WASILLA, AK – – Palmer’s John Klayum won the inaugural Alaska 150 Race over the fourth of July weekend at North Star Speedway in Wasilla. The two-day, six 25-lap segment races, featured 10 of Alaska’s best Baby Grand Stockcar drivers in a hard fought points race. Klayum ran passed fellow competitors Larry Theobald, Lash Larew, David Houston, and Paul Houston for the win. Other strong finishers included Anchorage’s John Robarge, Dana Pruhs, rookie racer Tucker Caven and Rod Rodriguez.
Anchorage’s Ray Proffit smashed his way to victory in the demolition derby Saturday night. Proffit, along with father and brother, rammed through the rest of the field to take the win over Richard Toni, Rick Sutherland, and David Retherford.
