MWST RETURNS TO CAJON SPEEDWAY

Upland, CA - – The Mechanix Wear Speed Truck Challenge returns to Cajon Speedway for race number 9 of its 18 race season in 2003. The 99 lap race is dedicated to and remembrance of 2002 Speed Truck Challenge Champion #99 Randy Brown.

Speed Trucks entered into this race on Saturday, July 12th at Cajon Speedway include points leader, and 2002 “Rookie of the Year” #91 Lee Hatch in the BHRM Motorsports Ford Ranger. Lee feels confident another victory can be notched in his belt at the “fastest short track in the west.” Second place points holder #21 John Burritt in the SBC Smart Yellow Pages Chevy S-10 out of Sparks, Nevada is coming down to try and take the points lead away from Hatch as he did earlier in the year and the #33 Donny Goodwin Chevy S-10 sponsored by Scientific Drilling has his eyes set on the front runners wanting to improve from his 3rd place position. The #31 Dan Digiacomo Dodge Dakota sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience in the 4th place position and he knows Cajon Speedway well after winning there in 2002. This driver is always out front.

But here comes the battle of the oil trucks with Riverside’s #2 Bobby Sayers Lucas Oil Products machine and Norco’s Robert Kroeker in the #58 Valvoline Speed Truck both tied for 5th place and both looking for their first win in 2003. Kroeker carries a substantial points lead over Jamul’s Alan Sanchez and San Diego’s Kevin Fedderson in the “Rookie of the Year” standings.

The Mechanix Wear Speed Truck Challenge travels the Southwest racing at tracks such as Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway, Tucson Raceway Park, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Mesa Marin Raceway, Cajon Speedway, Irwindale Speedway and Madera Speedway.
