LATEST RESULTS FROM GOODYEAR'S SHORT TRACK PROGRAM

** NASCAR Busch North Series: Tom Carey won the Pepsi 150 at Thompson International Speedway. It was his second straight victory, but he never won a bigger race. Race Day was not only Carey’s birthday, it was his wedding anniversary.

Carey admitted after the race he had neglected to buy his wife a gift, but a clutch performance during Bud Pole Qualifying earned him the pole position. Carey averaged 109.767 mph on his pole-winning run and averaged 77.020 mph in the race.

Carey led 130 of the 150 laps around the famed .625-mile oval. He completed the distance on one set of Goodyear Eagles, as did second finisher Andy Santerre.

Santerre was just .38 of a second behind the winner. Martin Truex Jr. led 20 laps before finishing third. Matt Kobyluck narrowly beat Mike Johnson for fourth place.

** USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series: Shane Huffman won the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 Presented by Goodyear Gemini Dealers at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tenn.

Huffman, who also won the Advance Auto Parts Pole Award, beat second-finisher Clay Rogers by 1.886 seconds.

Mardy Lindley finished third, followed by Jason Sarvis and Bobby Gill.

** NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series: Robert Huffman collected his second career victory at Kentucky Speedway and his third win this year on a superspeedway. Huffman, who went the distance on one set of tires, won for the 41st time in Series competition.

Justin Hobgood finished second. Danny Bagwell, Mickey York and rookie Eric Wilson, who led 11 laps, rounded out the top five.

Justin Hobgood won the Bud Pole Award with a record-setting effort. He averaged 151.920 mph around the 1.5-mile oval.

** CRA Sunoco Super Series: Bobby Parsley won the 37th Anderson 400 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Ind. It was his second victory this season.

Parsley and Terry Fisher Jr. won the Goodyear Performance Awards.

Junior Hanley finished second in the main event. J.R. Roahrig was third, followed by Kenny Tweedy and Bull Baker.

Baker also won the Yockey Motorsports Marketing Pole Award.

** c: Steve Irwin won his first SOD victory of the season at Owendale Speedway in Owendale, Mich. The race was a 25-lap chase around the quarter-mile semi-banked clay oval.

Dain Naida, who won the Goodyear Racing Tire Heat Race, finished second in the main event. Gregg Dalman was third in the final, Ronnie Beale came in fourth and Mike Galajda took fifth.

Dustin Daggett leads the standings with 2,311 points. Naida is second with 2,249.

** CASCAR Super Series: Jeff Lapcevich grabbed the lead for the final time with four laps remaining and held on to win the Avenue AC Delco 100 on the 11-turn street course at Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The race was part of the Toronto Indy Weekend.

Kevin Dowler, who lost the lead to Lapcevich near the end, finished second by .750 of a second. Trevor Seibert, Dowler’s teammate, finished third. Donald Theetge finished fourth and Scott Steckly was fifth.

Lapcevich won on his fiancee’s birthday and averaged 59.977 mph. There were 37 cars in the starting field.####
