At the time of his disappearance, Jason was attending the University of Clemson in South Carolina (UCSC) majoring in mechanical engineering with hopes of obtaining a position in NASCAR. The day of his disappearance, he was last seen at his apartment in the vicinity of the 100 block of Calhoun Street in Clemson, SC. Desert Thunder MotorSports (DTM) is now in its fourth year of raising awareness of missing persons, working in partnership with the Nations Missing Children Organization & Center for Missing Adults (NMCO). DTM places a picture of the missing person on the hood and deck lids of their racecars and utilizes the vehicle transporter as a spectacular 46’ foot mobile billboard reaching thousands in hopes of generating that one lead law enforcement can use to assist in the investigation.
Jason’s mother, Deborah Boogher, tells the story of a young man whose dreams to make a life in NASCAR lead him to his major. “Jason was majoring in mechanical engineering at Clemson University in their MotorSports program and was hoping to find a career in Nascar,” said Deborah. “My dream is to find my son!”
“We receive many requests directly from families of missing persons who have heard of our program,” said Darrell LaMoure, DTM driver and founder of the Racing for the Missing program. “Jason’s disappearance touched me because I think of my own dreams to be in NASCAR and this hits close to home.” Jason will be on the hood of the Napa Auto Parts/Yerf Dog Fun Cart Chevy this Saturday, July 26th in Madera, CA. “I am living my dream in Nascar and will use this opportunity to help, hoping to see Deborah’s dream come true and have Jason home,” Darrell added.
