After spending the past year preparing for the 2003 International Karting Federation (IKF) Speedway Grand Nationals, it's down to only a couple of days before Angel Racing leaves for the race track. NASCAR Northwest Series driver Shane Biles has sat out several races this season to help his wife and crew chief Renee Angel prepare for her big event.

They will leave on Thursday July 31 for Sunset Speedway in Spokane Washington. Racing starts on Saturday night with the Washington State's Champions race. They then have Sunday off to fix things up from Saturday's racing and make any last minute changes before the upcoming week. Monday starts the Grand National event with a night of practice. Renee has a multitude of engine, chassis and tire combinations that will be used to race in a total of 8 different classes over the next 4 days. Racing will start again on Tuesday and Renee will be racing in two different classes per night until the events completion on Friday night.

Renee knows what it takes to win a Grand National championship as she crewed for a 2 time national event winner in the 2002 event at Albuquerque New Mexico. Renee’s been racing karts since 1982 and after this seasons racing so far has her is favored to win several of the classes she has entered in.

More info on Sunset Speedway: Sunset Speedway is located at Spokane Raceway Park in the Airway Height neighborhood of Spokane Washington. The track is a 1/5 mile clay oval with night time lighting.
