Hoopa's Roger Sanderson won the Sportsman late model main on Saturday night, staking his claim to the 2003 championship. Donnie Brown took the crash-shortened Real Stock event, Jay Rhodes prevailed in the Mini Stocks and Orion Moshier scored the win in the Limited Street Stocks.

The Sportsman 35 lapper started with Joe McDonald on the pole and Phil Wood on the outside. Wood went the first 5 laps door to door with McDonald, while the rest of the field settled into single file. McDonald finally got the lead and the freight train followed, dropping Wood into seventh. The first caution flew on lap 11 after contact between Larry Pries and Pat Walsh. Both suffered body damage but were able to continue. Restart leaders were McDonald, Mark Williams, quick heat winner Sanderson, and Al Acuna. On lap 14 Williams got his nose inside McDonald, in a bid for the lead, only to spin. The field stacked up behind him, with Pries and Walsh colliding again. Fast timer and dash winner, Pries, was done for the night. First heat winner, McDonald, held the lead until lap 17 when Sanderson and Angelo Marcelli got by. Walsh's troubles continued as he shed body parts causing another yellow at lap 19. Sanderson stretched his lead the rest of the way to win ahead of Marcelli, McDonald, Wood, Williams and Acuna.

The Real Stock main was a crash filled event that was ended on lap 22 after the 5th yellow flag and a major oil-down in turns 3 and 4. The field actually completed a lap before the first yellow flew! On lap 2, Stan Young and Jimmy Thornbury made contact on the backstretch and in a separate incident, Ron Turner and dash winner, Cecil Arispe tangled, but were able to continue. J.D. Frey, filling in for Trevor Miller, held point on the restart ahead of Bret Overson, Young and points leader Aaron Byers. By lap 4, Byers and the quick Adam Figas had gotten around Frey. On lap 8, Brian Lorenzen, Bill Middleton, Doug Way and Thornbury tangled and Thornbury was done for the night. Figas led Byers, fast timer Donnie Brown first heat winner Gary Adams and Lissa Uselton. On lap 22, a thick trail of oil was dropped in front of the leaders. Cars spun everywhere including leader Figas and Byers. The final yellow flew as Brown, Adams, Turner and Arispe were able to tip toe through the mess. As the long clean up began, officials called the race with Byers 5th followed by Uselton and Overson. Byers also won the fast heat.

The Mini Stock field was 12 strong including rare appearances by Judge John Morrison and David Henderson. Papa Joe McDonald led the first three laps before dash winner Jay Rhodes and fast heat winner Joe Bonomini got by on lap 4. The race's only yellow flew on lap 5 as Scott Baker and Duane Mayo spun. Fast qualifier, Bonomoni, spent the rest of the race dogging Rhodes on the outside and though he pulled even with Rhodes many times, he wasn't able to complete the pass and settled for 2nd. Meanwhile, Brian Murrell and first heat winner Jaison Chand waged their own battle for third. Murrell was able to hold off points leader Chand for 3rd, ahead of Jeff Jewell Jr. and Henderson.

Orion Moshier won the Street Stock main in front of fast timer Lee Branstetter, Ron Brown, winner of both the dash and the heat, and Ray Middleton. Mark Burris blew an engine while fighting for the lead on lap 6. Branstetter and Craig Huffman tangled on lap 8 with Huffman hitting the wall before sliding to the infield. At the completion of the 15- lap race, Huffman was treated by paramedics and transported by ambulance for observation. (Craig called to say that he's got sore ribs, among other things, but is O.K.! Hope to see you back soon, Craig!)
