This Saturday Evergreen Speedway will be the sight of the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women Charity Night at the Races. This Night will feature Season Championship Races presented by Snap-On for the NASCAR Randys Ring & Pinion Bombers and NASCAR Mini Stocks. The Bomber division has one of the tightest championship point battles it has seen in years. Dirk Kruiswyk (Lake Goodwin) has just a single point advantage over Naima Lang (Everett) and eight points separate him from third place Mark Moulaison (Redmond). In fact only forty points separate 10th through 5th in points. There have been 12 different winners in the 16 A-Main events this season. Naima, Mark and Jason Fraser (Snohomish) are the only drivers with more than one win.

The NASCAR Mini Stocks will crown a Champion and Two time (consecutive) Champion Scott LaCross (Kenmore) does come into the evening with a seemingly insurmountable lead of 54 points over second place Michael Johnston (Monroe). Scotts year has been filled with the very thing it always has in the past, consistency. That is what Scott credits his championship run to. Michael Johnston on the other hand feels like its throw caution to the wind, and go for the win. Third place Tony Bunkelman (Lake Stevens) and Fourth place Dave Ramey (Everett) are in a race within the championship race locked up in a duel 4 points apart.

Those fabulous Hertz Hornets will be back to put on one of the best shows of all the classes yet again. These easy to build, low cost cars have been a huge hit in their second full season at Evergreen Speedway. Last week two rollovers and a dash for the finish had the crowd in its usual frenzy as the checkered flag flew.

The Northwest Legends will also race and Bill Bailey of the Association still maintains that both Tom Moriarity (Monroe) and John Zaretzke (Monroe) will be driving in Legends Saturday. Perhaps a preview of September 13ths Battle to the Finish?####
