WEST RICHLAND, Washington -- The season will end with a bang at Tri-City Raceway on Saturday night September 27. The FEAR Figure Eight cars return for an encore. The State Transmissions Hornets Jamboree along with a giant fireworks display will bring down the curtain on a fantastic season.
When the FEAR Figure Eights christened the new figure eight at TCR earlier this season the fans begged for their return. Track management was able to change the schedule to accommodate this daring group of drivers. With their season over at Spanaway and Evergreen Speedways, a large field of cars is expected to test the tight track. These super fast cars will have the fans on their feet as they weave their way through the X of the figure eight missing (sometimes not) each other by inches.
Shane Sawin winner of the first ever figure eight race on June 14 will return with many of his Association members for a curtain call. The fans who witnessed the June event never sat during the 35-lap main and were amazed at the close misses at the sweet spot and the reckless abandon that they seem to have. Figure eight racing takes a tremendous amount of concentration and timing to avoid disaster.
The State Transmissions Hornets who have enthralled the fans all season will be on hand for the finale. The TCR management has obtained many valuable prizes for the drivers to win. There will be many different types of events for these 4-cylinder cars. There is a rumor that there may be a road course set up.
The speedway staff wanted to close the season with something special. A gigantic fireworks display is scheduled and will end the most energetic season in the long history of this fabled facility.
