5:28 -- Practice is now over for the SWS. Some teams did not have spotters in the correct place so forfeited their hopes of the last 30 minutes of track time.
Burney Lamar had a welcoming committee when he came in off practice. Don't know what that was about. He had to use another driver's radio so he could get some laps because his spotter was on the wrong side of the track.
5:15--29 SWS car spins on the backstretch, no contact. They might end practice.
4:35--There does not appear to be anything major with the 8 and NASCAR allows it to continue practicing.
4:33--The Winston West cars are on the track practicing now. The No.8 of Johnny Borneman was dragging something and sparking down in turn one. He was brought in by NASCAR.
4:22-- Cars will be able to participate in final practice now. A number of the Southwest Tour cars were only allowed to take one lap because of failure to get through tech and onto the track for the qualifying run in time. The 07 was "on the clock" and would have been the last car out to qualify but did not meet the time rule.
3:11 -- They are getting the cars ready to begin the SWS qualifying. They will take two laps.
For Near Live Qualifying go to: SWS Qualifying
Scott Lynch scored pole in Winston West, Brendan Gaughan scored pole in the truck (three in a row for Gaughan).
2:59 -- 8 car on track, the 8 was 11th quick.
2:54 PM: OK it is a real mess out there on the track. NASCAR is telling Borneman that he can go up to turn 3 and 4 and then pull off he doesn't like it, but if he takes the green he will have to run in the stuff.
They want to blow off the track, but the blower won't start. There is only one car left to qualify and that is the 8 car of Borneman. They are asking Borneman if he just wants to run through it. They are going to let Borneman go out and if he doesn't like it he can come back in and they can work on it some more. I guess oil was droopped out there. And then they dumped the kitty litter and now they cannot sweep it off.
In the pits are people meandering around in open toed shoes, shorts and alchohol. NASCAR is getting a grip on the situation. (These are the fans, not the professional teams).
8 is on the track but it is going yellow, he did not take a lap. Oil on the track.

1:23 PM -- No. 33 spun coming out of turn two, no contact.
1:20 PM -- SWS cars are still practicing, they have less than 10 minutes left.
1:14 PM Select cars are being asked to maintain reasonable speed in the pits and to be honest some of the cars are going way too fast..
1:12 PM -- One of the visitors from the other series is being told they cannot use recirculators in the SWS. The team states the other series allows them to be used.
1:04 PM -- All SWS cars have now practiced.
12:55 PM -- Spin in turn two. It is the No. 47, no contact.
15, 6, 29 and 31 are being told to clear the track its yellow. The track needs to be cleaned.
12:54 -- It will be a green track soon.
12:53 PM -- The 42 SWS car has not practiced as of yet, all other cars have taken their practice laps. Track is still yellow.
12:47 PM --NASCAR is overlooking track cleanup. They are concerned there is still oil on the track and taking no risks.
12:34 PM -- 94 SWS car of Darrell LaMoure blew a motor, will be listed as mechanical.
Austin Cameron crashed in first NWWS practice. The team is working on both his regular car and the back up car.
