LYNCH 2-FOR-2 IN QUALIFYING AT PIR

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Scott Lynch turned a fast-lap of 126.600 mph on Saturday to go two-for-two in qualifying at Phoenix International Raceway this season in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Winston West Series.

Lynch, who also turned in the fastest lap when the series visited the one-mile track in February, will lead the field to the green flag for the Subway 150 on Sunday.

Kevin Richards, whose last series win came at Phoenix in 2000, will start from outside the front row. Mike Duncan and Mark Reed will make up the second row, followed by Steve Portenga and Jim Inglebright in row three.

Lynch, the leading rookie contender, enters the event with an 18-point lead in the chase for the series championship over Portenga. The Subway 150 is the 11th of 13 races on the 2003 series schedule.
