
BAKERSFIELD, California -- The Mesa Marin half-mile will be busy today as it is the final day of testing before the Lucas Oil October Classic, which begins a week from today.
The infield is full of front running NASCAR teams from both the NASCAR Winston West and NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series. NASCAR Winston West Series point leader Scott Lynch was the first to unload this morning. He was joined early on by Winston West competitors Mark Reed and Brandon Miller. NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series drivers include M.K. Kanke, Dan Holtz, Craig Raudman, Tommy Fry, Ben Walker, Brandon Loverock and Burney Lamar.
The teams are preparing for Mesa Marins 26th annual Lucas Oil October Classic which will feature three days of racing, eight divisions of competition and over $200,000 in prize money.
The NASCAR Winston West Series and Super Late Models will be in action Sunday afternoon October 19th, the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Late Models and fireworks are scheduled for Saturday night October 18th, with Opening Night of the October Classic featuring the West Coast Pro Trucks, Ultra Wheels Super Trucks, Street Stocks and the Cal Spas SuperMoto USA Series.
