DAYTONA BEACH, Flordia -- Officials for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing and California Speedway have postponed the King Taco 200, NASCAR Grand National Division, Winston West Series event scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1.

The postponement was due to the devastating wildfires that have ravaged areas of Southern California. The speedway is located in San Bernardino County, which is part of the region designated as a major disaster area by President Bush.

Current championship point standings in the NASCAR Winston West Series will be used to determine eligibility of drivers for the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown Nov. 6-8 at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway.

NASCAR officials also announced the postponement of the Winston West Series championship awards ceremony, which had been slated for Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, Calif.####
