When the Westcap Investors Big Bore Bash presented by Ford Motor Company ahead Applied Computer Solutions thunders into action at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, Calif., November 22 - 23, it will mark one of the most spectacular season finales in the 30 year history of VARA competition.
Featuring original Era Historic Can-Am, Pro Trans-Am, Vintage NASCAR and the first ever VARA Race of Champions (VROC), plus all the other popular VARA classes, race goes will be treated to an amazing array of exotic machinery in two fantastic days of non-stop, fast paced action racing. And, that's not all. A special Ford Chevy Challenge will provide a chance for fans to cheer for their favorite manufacturer. And, yet another special treat will be a the appearance of top-ranked professional drivers and special guests Peter Bryant, Mike Davis, Tomy Drissi, Danny Eames, Dick Guldstrand, Ed Iskendarian, Paul LeMat, Ak Miller, Greg Pickett, Andy Porterfield, Boris Said, Peter Shea and Dick Smith. Adding more to the festivities will be the American Iron Car Show featuring Ford.
A super fast 2.5-mile / nine-turn road racing circuit, patterned after the great courses and road racing traditions of Europe, Willow Springs Raceway provides some of the best racing ever found on the West Coast. It's substantial elevation changes and high average speeds, make Willow Springs is one of the fastest and most challenging tracks in the country and it the perfect showcase for the many beautiful machines that grace the VARA entry list.
With an open paddock, fans can stroll through the whole area, look at all the race cars, talk to the drivers, take photographs and even bench race, then go out by the course and feel the very thunder of this exciting race program. In addition, VARA also allows spectators to take their private vehicle on the racecourse at noon each day for a fee of $20. This unique VARA tradition allows fans to see what the track is really about. With various class championships on the line, the racing is definitely going to be intense as competitors vie for victory and those all-important points.
Celebrating their 30th Anniversary, VARA is the largest vintage organization in the world and well known for their excellent events. And the Westcap Investors Big Bore Bash presented by Ford Motor Company and Applied Computer Solutions will be no exception. In addition to saluting VARA, this event also showcases Willow Springs 50th Anniversary and Ford's 100th Anniversary.
