LAKEPORT, California -- The 2004 racing season will see a new late model traveling series for asphalt tour-type late models in the Pacific North West . The 12 race series will compete at five different racing facilities, and will offer a guaranteed purse for each of its 75 lap features. In addition, a substantial points fund is on tap for the series champion and top competitors.
The series was formed when the new Nor-Cal tour car group merged with the Tri-State Challenge. Rules will be similar to the current Tri-State rules with a few minor changes.
California tracks hosting the "Nor-State Challenge Series" will be Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka with four events, Ukiah Speedway with three races, Shasta Raceway Park in Anderson with two events, and Lakeport Speedway with one race. Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon is also on board for two events. The schedule will begin in April at Shasta Raceway Park and run through the Labor Day weekend in September.
More information and the complete schedule will be available in the new year. Questions about the series can be directed to Lakeport Speedway managers Bob or Nadine Strauss at (707) 274-2844.![]()
