PENDLETON, Indiana -- South Sound Speedway, located in Western Washington, has formed an agreement with the American Speed Association Member Track program for the 2004 season. This is the first year for South Sound Speedway under the ASA banner, and also the first track in the state of Washington to become an ASA Member Track.
“Joining the ASA Member Track program lends to a great future for South Sound Speedway,” said Butch Behn, promoter of South Sound Speedway. “ASA’s plan with the Member Tracks will be a huge benefit to our speedway. We have to educate the fans on the American Speed Association and that will come over time with its continued growth and the national television coverage with SPEED Channel. The Member Track program is going to take off and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”
Dubbed the fastest .375-mile oval on the West Coast, South Sound Speedway features some of the most exciting racing competition. The Rochester, Wash., oval showcases seven different racing classes: Late Model Super Stocks, Sportsman, Top Notch Trailers Street Stocks, Hinkle Homes Pure Stocks, Yelm National Auto Parts Bumblebees, Mini-Cup Open Division and Future Stars.

The ASA Member Track program is designed for weekly short track venues to make available many of the policies, principles, procedures and components that have made the American Speed Association a premier short track sanctioning body for 36 years.
Participating tracks receive contributions to their year-end points fund, marketing opportunities, and join a small, select group of elite tracks displaying the ASA Member Track logo.

The American Speed Association offers racing on three levels: ASA National Tour, ASA Late Model Series and through the rapidly expanding ASA Member Track program.
