2003 FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST SERIES ROOKIE OF THE YEAR EYES INAUGURAL AUTOZONE SOUTHWEST SERIES CROWN

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- After a strong showing his first season, 20 year old JR Patton will be back to finish where he left off in 2003. After a final position of 9th in the overall points and collecting the Victory Circle Rookie of the Year, JR Patton Racing is back with a bigger prize in mind. “Although we had a great rookie season, this year we plan on stepping it up with hopes of being an Autozone Elite Division Champion,” says Patton. It will take a lot of hard work and luck it the team hopes to be successful.

The team will be back with the exact same crew from last year along with a couple of new faces. They have prepared vigorously through this short off season. “With everything we’ve learned and a year under our belts, I believe we will truly be a contender for the championship this year,” says crew chief Ted Cummins. A completely re-built back up car will allow them to quickly bounce back if trouble should come their way.

The team will continue to run its primary car at every event with Koerner Racing Engines under the hood. Las Cruces Motorsports and Patrick’s Motorsports will continue to support the team but JR Patton Racing is still looking for a full time sponsor to help them to complete the entire season. To contact JR Patton Racing email jr@jrpattonracing.com or call Ted Cummins @ 505/993-0161 or Dennis Patton @ 505/993-0160.####
