PHOENIX, Arizona - Defending champion Scott Lynch will lead a 30-car field to the green flag Sunday in the United Rentals 150 NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series race at Phoenix International Raceway.

The lineup for the season-opening event was determined according to the NASCAR rulebook, after NASCAR officials cancelled qualifying due to inclement weather on Saturday morning.

It marks the third consecutive pole at Phoenix for Lynch, who set the fastest time in qualifying for both series races on the one-mile track last year. He finished second to Ken Schrader in the 2003 season-opener and scored a victory when the series returned to Phoenix in October.

Mike Duncan will start on the outside of the front row for Sunday's race, with Nick DeFazio and Tavo (C.T.) Hellmund lining up on the second row. The third row will be comprised of Austin Cameron and Scott Gaylord.
