Eddy McKean, the 2002 Southwest Series champion, leads the point standings heading into this Saturday's race at Madera (CA) Speedway after a dominating performance in the season opening event at Phoenix. McKean may hold the edge in the point standings over Jim Pettit II of nearby Prunedale, Calif., but it is Eric Holmes of Escalon, Calif. that each will be gunning for in race number two of the 14-race championship series.
Holmes has two career victories at the third-mile paved oval along with two top five performances. Holmes also has his sights set on the season championship after narrowly missing the crown by 63 points in 2003.
The AutoZone "125" presented by Star Nursery.Com is set to take the green flag at 6:00 pm Saturday, March 13.
