On Sunday Jim Pettit Racing and California HotWood will team up for the next stop in the 2004 AutoZone Southwest Series at Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield, California. HotWood, has signed on again to sponsor the Jim Pettit Racing 03 Ford at the Star Nursery 150. The last time the Pettit Racing/HotWood Ford left the Central Valley they left with the winners trophy. They hope for a repeat this weekend.

Pettit is the current points leader over 2002 series champion Eddie McKean and carries that momentum into Mesa Marin this weekend. Talking to Jim early Monday morning he expressed the team’s excitement about the upcoming race. “We have run good the last few times there and with lady luck on our side we should finish well.” Finishing well is something the 03 team has done a lot since joining the Southwest Series in 2001. The team believes the best is yet to come. Starting off the season with a 3rd place finish in Phoenix and a recent win in Madera has the 03 team focused on the championship.

The Pettit racing team could not be happier with the support of HotWood as they continue the search for a primary sponsor for the 2004 season. California HotWood, the largest manufacturer of packaged firewood in the United States, offers a small clean package for the person who wants to burn natural firewood. They can be purchased at Save Mart, Safeway and many other retailers. HotWood sponsored Jim Pettit Racing from 1996-2000 winning four championships and many races. They invite all fans to meet Jim and the 03 team in the pits after the race on Sunday March 28th.####
