Friday, March 26th, fans will have a chance to get up close and personal with David Gilliland and the Mark Golembeski No. 88 MRG Motorsports/Honda Cars of Corona NASCAR Southwest Elite and NASCAR Grand National West Series cars and Hauler on The Streets of Bakersfield.
Gilliland and the team will be taking part in the 5th annual Downtown Bakersfield Motorsports Festival which is being held on Chester Avenue in downtown Bakersfield starting at 6:00 pm this coming Friday evening (March 26, 2004).
In addition to Gilliland drivers from Mesa Marin Raceway, Buttonwillow Raceway Park, Bakersfield Speedway, Highway 99 Cruise ‘N’ Show and Famoso Raceway will also be on hand.
"The Bakersfield Motorsports Street deal is always a blast. I love to see the fans and they get a great chance to see not only the racecars up close, but they can also tour the haulers that transport these cars," said Gilliland.
One thing is for sure; the Bakersfield community has some of the most enthusiastic fans in the country, making this an event not to be missed.
Gilliland will be racing this weekend in both the NASCAR Grand West Series race on Saturday, March 27 and the NASCAR Southwest Elite Series race on March 28.
