ERIE, Colorado --Because of dreary weather conditions, and a forecast calling for a 70% chance of rain and/or snow, officials at Colorado National Speedway elected to cancel Saturday afternoon's planned 2004 season opener. The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series event was to have been the first race under new track owners Renegade Promotions.

With Mother Nature's cooperation, next Saturday afternoon, April 10, will now become the first contest of the year at the 3/8 mile paved oval. While the event name has changed, and will be known as the "Renegade Promotions Season Opener", the divisions competing will be the same as those announced on the original schedule for April 10. The card will include the Horizon Banks Late Models, the Sonoco Grand American Modifieds, the Legends Car Series, and the Four Seasons Heating Figure-Eights. The special early starting time will see qualifying begin at 12:30 PM, with racing beginning at 2:00 PM sharp.####
