COVINA, California -- Lee Hatch drove his No. 91 BHRM Motorsports Speed Truck from the pole position to victory on Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. Hatch now has three wins of the season, but this was his first career win at the Irwindale track.
"Since we are a touring series I have raced and won at other tracks, except for Irwindale," said Hatch. "I've had some seconds and I've led races here until mechanical problems on the final laps, but I never got the elusive win. This is a special victory for me tonight."
Hatch led every lap of the 50-lap main event. Darren Young in the No. 24 truck followed in second, but was never able to make a pass. The final laps of the race kept fans on the edge of their seats as Hatch skated in between a cluster of lapped trucks to secure the win.
"The truck was on rails from the beginning," said Hatch. "I felt confident and determined to win tonight." In the last laps I just had to go or Young would have gotten on top of me. I want thank my crew for all their hard work."
The BHRM Motorsports team sponsored by Wentzell Equipment Rental, HazMat Backhoe, RG Motorsports, RBS Graphics, Faust Printing, Parker Pumper and Liquid Eyewear will travel to Mesa Marin Raceway on Saturday, April 24th for a 100-lap night race.
