DALLAS, Texas -- HDNet announced today that Pat Patterson, Mike Hogewood and Kandace Krueger comprise the broadcast team for ‘NASCAR Grand National Division on HDNet’.

Veteran NASCAR broadcasters Patterson and Hogewood will host coverage for most of the 18 races with HDNet’s Krueger as pit reporter. The race programs will begin with live pre-race coverage and special features that take viewers behind-the-scenes with the series leaders and their crews as they prepare for each week’s race action.

“NASCAR Grand National Division on HDNet” launches Sunday, April 25 with the NASCAR Busch North Series race at Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire, followed by the May 1 NASCAR West Series race at California Speedway near Los Angeles.

“I am really excited to be joining the HDNet team to host this spectacular high-definition coverage,” said Patterson. “I have known Mike Hogewood for a long time. He is a great talent and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

“HDNet has brought together a talented team to create informed, comprehensive programming that will allow our fans to follow our NASCAR Grand National Division and its emerging stars throughout the season,” said Chris Boals, director, NASCAR Regional Touring. "We're excited to work with HDNet on this new television package, which will increase exposure for the drivers, tracks, teams and sponsors in the NASCAR Grand National Series."

Patterson, also known as “The Racing Guy,” has been involved in motor sports for more than 25 years. He hosted and produced television shows “RaceDay” on TNN and “On Pit Road” in national syndication. His radio experience includes more than 20 years of calling the action on the “pit road” for the Performance Racing Network (NASCAR).

Hogewood’s extensive racing background includes work as a pit reporter for NASCAR’s premier racing series (now NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series) and NASCAR Busch Series races, as well as play-by-play on NASCAR Busch Series races for TNT and TNN. He has also hosted “This Week in Motor Sports” and “RaceDay” on TNN. Hogewood is currently in his third season as Fox Sports Net’s host of the weekly sports show “ACC Live.”

Krueger, after winning Miss USA 2001, went on to work as a sideline reporter for the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) and KBTX-TV in College Station, Texas. At HDNet, she currently co-hosts the network’s original series “Across America,” and is also a feature reporter for college football coverage and for the HDNet Horse Racing Challenge.

About the NASCAR Grand National Division

NASCAR’s Grand National Division, comprised of the NASCAR Busch North Series and NASCAR West Series, is a regional touring division and part of NASCAR’s driver developmental system. Race cars in the NASCAR Grand National Division are similar to those used in the NASCAR Busch Series. The vehicles are powered by 350 to 358 cubic-inch V-8 engines with a maximum compression ratio of 12:1. Both 105- and 110-inch wheelbase cars are allowed, with a minimum weight of 3,300 pounds. All cars are equipped with Goodyear bias-ply tires.

The NASCAR West Series enters its 51st season in 2004. This series, which competes in Washington, Oregon, California, Utah and Arizona, has been a proving ground for the region’s top drivers for the past five decades. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series star Kevin

Harvick was the 1998 West Series champion and NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series rookie Brendan Gaughan was a two-time series champion in 2000-2001.

At race tracks throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, the NASCAR Busch North Series will stage its 18th season in 2004. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Ricky Craven, a native of Newburgh, Maine, won the 1991 Busch North Series championship before rising to stardom on NASCAR’s national series in the early 1990s. New Jersey competitor Martin Truex Jr. became the latest NASCAR Busch North driver to hit the national scene this year – the five-time Busch North race winner now drives for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s NASCAR Busch Series team, with an eye on the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series in 2005.
