COVINA, California -- ASA Speed Truck Challenge point’s leader Lee Hatch claimed the pole, won the Trophy Dash and took home second place on Saturday night at Mesa Marin Raceway. Qualifying with a time of 20.606 seconds Hatch had the fastest time, but due to the gamble of the die, the inversion placed him in the fifth starting position.
“Qualifying went well,” said Hatch. “The inversion can be a challenge, but that’s part of the series keeping it exciting for the fans.”
Hatch drove his No. 91 BHRM Motorsports Speed Truck through the field up to second place in just a few laps of the 50-lap main event. He displayed his smooth and fearless driving style going three wide through lapped traffic at times trying to chase down the No. 50 of Kevin Fedderson.
“It was a great point’s nights,” said Hatch. “It’s not about winning every race, it’s taking what the truck and the track will give you and staying ahead in the points battle. I would like to congratulate the No. 50 Team on their first Speed Truck win.”
The BHRM Motorsports team will head to Orange Show Speedway on Saturday, May 1 for an action-packed night race. With three wins and a second place finish under his belt, Hatch has secured an 18-point lead in the series.
A special thanks to the team’s sponsors; Wentzell Equipment Rental, HazMat Backhoe, RG Motorsports, RBS Graphics, Faust Printing, Parker Pumper and Liquid Eyewear.
