LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- As the ASA Speed Truck Challenge made their second stop at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday night; it was a night of close and action packed racing.
"The #50 All States Leasing Dodge Dakota Speed Truck unloaded fast friday night", said Kevin Fedderson. Yet the team was not satisfied and felt they needed more speed.
The All States Leasing #50 Speed Truck team arrived at the track on Saturday confident in their truck and were content with not practicing. But after a team meeting driver Kevin Fedderson and crew chief Ruben Munoz decided to practice after all. We soon learned the truck was not up to par with the rest of the field. "After hard work by my team the #50 All States Leasing Speed Truck qualified second at a 16.53", said Fedderson. With a six rolled by fast qualifier Darren Young, that landed Fedderson inside row 3.
The All States Leasing Speed Truck #50 started outside row 2 for the Trophy dash. "If we only had a couple more laps...my truck was really fast. I was knocking on the back door of the #91 Speed Truck of Lee Hatch. We ended up finishing fourth behind the points leaded Lee Hatch.
My whole team and I were pumped up for the race because we knew that we had an awesome truck," said Fedderson. The green flag flew and around lap 10 Fedderson was in second place. At lap 67 the yellow came out which gave us a shot at the leader Lee Hatch. But those chances were cut short due to uncooperative lapped traffic. "We could of gave Lee a run for his money if we were presented with the opportunity", said Ruben Munoz. The All States Leasing #50 Speed Truck finished second. "I would like to thank my crew chief of Ruben, Katy, Bones and Randy for all their hard work on the #50 All States Leasing Speed Truck. And a special thanks to my Mom, Dad and my girlfriend Kelsey for all their support," said Fedderson. The whole team is gearing up for our next race in 3 weeks at Mesa Marin.![]()
