ROCKLIN, California -- Austin Cameron, driver of the #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS/NAPA Belts & Hose Chevrolet and the Bill McAnally Racing team are looking to repeat their win from last year as they make the short, 60 minute trip from the NAPA race shop in Rocklin to Stockton, California for the "Stockton 99 Speedway/Dodge Country/Havoline/NAPA AUTO PARTS Grand National Western 150". This weekend's event is the third race in the series held at the speedway since 1984 and the first of two events to be run there in the 2004 NASCAR Grand National Division West Series season. In 2003, Austin Cameron won the Bud Pole Award by recording a time of 14.135 seconds, breaking the previous track record by .340 seconds.
"We have an awesome car prepared," said Cameron. "Everyone at the shop has been working hard to get ready for this race. We love short track racing. We tested at Stockton earlier this month and we are very happy with our test results and have some great notes going into this event. We are running sixth in the standings, just out of fifth by one point and only 40 points out of first, and we look to rectify that this weekend."
Bill McAnally Racing always gets great support from their sponsors, NAPA AUTO PARTS and NAPA Belts & Hose at the Stockton 99 race last season. Over 400 NAPA AUTO PARTS customers, store owners and employees have come to support the team and the #16 NAPA team looks forward to being in Victory Circle again.
The Stockton 99 Speedway was once described as the 'Bristol of the West'. It is a 1/4 mile track that has a reputation for being a tough track. The #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS team is ready for the challenge. The "Stockton 99 Speedway/Dodge Country/Havoline/NAPA AUTO PARTS Grand National Western 150" race will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2004. The NASCAR Winston West teams will qualify at 4:30 with the race scheduled to begin at 8 pm. This event will not be televised.
