Melissa Nicole Borquez classified as a Endangered runaway by the El Monte Police department concerns Melissa's mother Brandy Williams "for her to just disappear and not even call her closest friends doesn't make sense" Said Brandy Williams Melissa's mother

Desert Thunder MotorSports and the Napa Auto Parts racing team utilize their racecars as a high-speed awareness tool. " For five years we have placed larger then life images of missing persons on the hood of our Nascar Auto Zone Elite Division Southwest Series racecars as part of our Public Awareness and Child Safety program" said car owner and Father of driver Roger LaMoure

On June 9, 2003 less then a year ago, Melissa disappeared, she still may be in the Colton or Hesperia area El Monte police think. Melissa wears eyeglasses and both ears are pierced. Her top front tooth is discolored. Melissa may go by the nickname Nick.

"Personally these cases bother me, no apparent reason for running away, good family values, smart young people. Are they victim to circumstances or victims of a crime? Each time we profile a runaway I think theres hope, the team travels all over the southwestern United States someone has to know something hopefully a race fan will have information leading law enforcement to her safe return" Said Darrell LaMoure driver

The immediate family of Melissa will be guests of Desert Thunder and their partner agency the "Nations Missing Children's Organization & Center for Missing Adults www.nmco.org in co-operation with the Nations Center for Missing & Exploited children's organization.

Saturday May 29, 2004 in Irwindale, Ca the Auto Zone "150" takes place. Thirty of the finest and future stars of tomorrows Nascar will compete on the fastest Half Mile in the West at Irwindale Speedway. Darrell went on to say "Irwindale is the nicest facility we run at, right up they're with Phoenix International raceway and Infineon raceway. The crowd is full of life and at any moment the race fans will actually cheer their favorite driver to the front and you bet we can hear them" Racing starts at 5:00 with Qualifying and the big show approximately 8:00 PM
