IRWINDALE, California -- When Round 6 of the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series roars to life at Irwindale Speedway, Saturday, May 29, Nick Lynch will be looking to gain addition ground.
"We gained a number of points with our top ten finish at Stockton," says Lynch. "If we can better that at this weekend's AutoZone "150", we will definitely be closer to our goal of earning Rookie of the Year honors. Currently, we are running in the second place slot, just 14 points out of first and with nine races left, I feel that we have a good chance of moving into first and into the top ten in the overall point's chase."
Extremely dedicated and a hard-charger from the word go, there is no doubt that Nick Lynch is more than determined to do just what he says. "The compassion is pretty stiff this year," says Lynch. "There are a lot of good drivers out there. In fact in five races there have been five different winners. But the Lynch Mob Motorsports crew really knows their stuff. In short, we have a great Mr. Gas/Yerf-Dog Chevy and an outstanding crew and we are ready to do battle."
While many of the tracks on this season's circuit are new to Lynch, Irwindale is not. "I'm really glad we are going to Irwindale," says the Burley, Idaho native. "It is one of the most fun tracks we run on. It's fast and the passing is good. I've raced here in the trucks before and always done well. Hopefully that experience will give me that all-important extra edge and I will be able to put my number 29 Mr. Gas/Yerf-Dog Chevy up in front without too much problem."![]()
