NICK LYNCH TAKES ANOTHER JUMP FORWARD

IRWINDALE, California -- Showing off his behind-the-wheel skill, Nick Lynch expertly piloted his No. 29 Mr. Gas/Yerf-Dog Chevy from 27th to seventh overall at Round 6 of the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series at Irwindale Speedway, Saturday, May 29. Notching his second top ten of the season, Lynch also earned the AutoMeter Rookie of the Race honors.

"This was really a fun race," smiled Lynch. "The Lynch Mob Motorsports crew gave me a strong Chevy. We were right on in both practices, but for some reason, when I went out to qualify, the car and I were not together at all and so we were forced to run the B Main. Luckily things went well. I smoked them and made it into the AutoZone 150 without any problem."

Lining up on the Grid in 27th, Lynch was definitely ready when the Green Flag waved. "I wasn't about to waste any time," he said. I knew I wanted to be in the top ten and that's where I headed."

Pushing his Mr. Gas/Yerf-Dog Chevy forward, Lynch began his march to the front and in no time at all he was steadily picking off competitors one after another. "It didn't take me too long," says Lynch. "I think we were up in about 13th by lap 30." We pretty much ran free and clear the whole race with the exception of one little fender bender. It was great racing, often three wide, and lots of action for the fans. We were running in 8th and just before the race ended, I managed to get by Rip Michels for 7th place and top rookie honors."

Lynch's finish moved him up two places in the overall point standings. "We're getting there," smiled Lynch. "We started off the season with an all-new crew and it took a few races for us to get used to working together. Things are started to really jell and I think we will be able to continue our climb up the ranks. With eight races left in this year's series, I feel we can definitely earn a top ten overall finish."####
