NOT ACCORDING TO PLAN!

STOCKTON, California -- Things didn't exactly go according to plan for Scott Lynch and Orleans Racing at the Havoline/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Stockton 99 Speedway, Saturday, May 29.

"Things started out pretty good," said Lynch, the reigning NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series Champion. "Our Yerf-Dog Dodge was running really well. We qualified in the Number 2 spot with a 14.185. Pulling off the Startline, I was feeling confident and looking forward to a good run. Obviously, just like last year that wasn't to be. On Lap 4 or 5, I tangled with another competitor, got spun out and suffered some damage to the rear and side of my Yerf-Dog Dodge."

Dropping all the way back to 22nd, Lynch immediately began to make his way back up through the pack. "Unfortunately, the accident caused a brake problem and my left rear kept locking up," explains Lynch. "I made it back up to 8th place and then going into Turn 2 the brakes locked again and I spun out and went a lap down. Unfortunately there were only fifteen laps remaining and so I had to settle for 10th. We lost one position in the point's chase, but we are still within striking distance of the lead.

With nine races left in this year's series, Lynch and Orleans Racing have more than enough time to take the championship for the second year in a row. "We're more than determined to bring the title home again for both Yerf-Dog and Dodge," says Lynch, " and we know we can do it. We just need a little luck and we will be up in front."####
