
BAKERSFIELD, California -- Both Greg Puskarich and Aaron Staudinger won their second main events of 2004 at Mesa Marin tonight in the Street Stocks and West Coast Pro Truck Series events respectively.
Both drivers were atop the speed charts after qualifying, yet both drivers had to work for their main event wins.
Puskarich worked his way quickly to the front of the field but was pursued closely by defending series champion David Hutchins, Jr. Hutchins, Jason Devries, Paul Ebersbacher and Shane Thomas rounded out the top five.
In the West Coast Pro Truck Series main event Staudinger had to work his way past Chris Johnson and Brian Pannone to take the lead. At the finish it was Staudinger followed by Sean Bennett, Pannone, Johnson and Dave Lyon.
Chris Meadows of Delano High School lead his team to another victory in the ChevronTexaco High School Racing Series. Mojave High was second and Frazier Mountain High School was third.
The Kern County Building Department picked up their first win of 2004 in the 911 Race for Youth Series.
Next Saturday night, Kevin Harvick returns to Mesa Marin for the “Kevin Harvick Cup Drivers Challenge” featuring Bill Elliott, Sterling Marlin and a fourth Cup driver to be announced. The event will also feature the NASCAR Late Model Series, ASA Speed Truck Challenge, 911 the ChevronTexaco High School Racing Series, plus a Fireworks Spectacular.
