CHUCK TRICKLE WON SUPER LATE MODEL FEATURE AT THE BULLRING

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Artie White won the second annual 7-Elven Bullring Bombers Slurpee Challenge and the 2002 Super Late Model track champion Chuck Trickle posted his first win this season at the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday night.

In the first 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers Slurpee Challenge segment, Thom Brown took command from race leader Rick Lamb at the midpoint of the 50-lap feature to take the checkered flag. Jeremy Hubbard finished second followed by White and Wade Pearson.

Gary Wyatt took the checkered flag in the second 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers Slurpee Challenge. He started 21st in the 40-lap event after posting a fifth-place finish in the first segment. White finished second followed by Mike Heck and Rich Brower.

In the final segment, Brown and Hubbard raced side-by-side to battle for the lead in the 20-lap feature. On lap 14 Hubbard was able to secure the lead and maintain it to the finish for the segment win. Eric Penrod finished second followed by Brower and Heck.

White was able to secure the second annual 7-Eleven Slurpee Challenge win by posting the best average finishes in all three segments with a third, second and sixth respectively.

“I had no idea I was the winner. These guys in the Bomber division can race good,” said White in Summit Racing Victory Lane. When asked about his strategy to stay competitive in all three segments, White said, “save the tires, save the fuel.”

The 2002 Super Late Model track champion Trickle earned his first win this season in the 50-lap feature event. He started the race 11th and moved to the second position on lap 27 behind race leader Thane Alderman. A three-car train of Alderman, Trickle and Mike Ray battled for the lead. Trickle took command on lap 41 and was able to hold off Ray for the win. Ray finished second followed by Justin Johnson and Mike Cofer.

“The Quality guys are doing a good job this year,” said Trickle in Summit Racing Equipment Victory Lane. Quality Motorsports have eight of 11 race wins. “We have worked hard and we just couldn’t finish races, but we got one.”
