BIG NIGHT PLANNED AT MESA MARIN

BAKERSFIELD, California -- Coming off a rare weekend off, Mesa Marin is ready for one of it’s biggest annual events, Jim Burke Ford Night at the Races. This Saturday night’s line up of competition features the NASCAR Late Models, Street Stocks, the 911 Race for Youth Series, ChevronTexaco High School Racing Series and the Cal Spas Supermoto Series.

In the NASCAR Late Model championship standings after 10 of 18 events, Bakersfield’s Josh Horn leads with 441 points over Atascadero’s David Mayhew with 424. Rounding out the top five are Michael Burrow, Brian Richardson and Doug Foos.

The 2004 Street Stock standings are nearly deadlocked at the top as Greg Puskarich leads by just one point over defending series champ David Hutchins, Jr. , 425 to 424. Shane Thomas is third at 417, Paul Ebersbacher and Jason Devries make up the top five.

Leonardo Bagnis leads by 13 points over rival Casey Yarrow in the Open Pro division after four rounds of the 2004 Cal Spas Supermoto Series at Mesa Marin.

Mojave High School leads Frazier Mountain High, Delano High and defending champions North High in the ChevronTexaco High School Racing Series standings.

Saturday night the spectator gates will open at 5pm, on-track autograph session at 6:30pm, with racing starting at 7:30pm sharp.
