BREA, California -- Rookie ASA Speed Truck driver Steve Guccione charged from the 19th starting position to finish sixth to post his first top 10 finish of the season in front of a hometown crowd at Irwindale Speedway and a race that will be televised on the Outdoor Channel August 18th and 21st.
Guccione was ecstatic after the finish. “Man this is great coming from behind and passing all these trucks, I just wish we would have had another 25 laps to pick off a few more trucks. I know I didn’t have enough for the leader Lee Hatch, but feel we could of finished 2nd or 3rd with a little more time. What a great show for all the fans and what makes it even more special was all my friends and family were able to attend. This is just what we needed to get our season back on track.”
The #40 InternetTrains.com Dodge struggled early in the season. We totaled the truck in the second race of the season and had to build a new one and missed three races in the process but have steadily improved in every race since then. Our goal now is to try to finish the season in the top ten in points.
