MONROE, Washington -- Evergreen Speedway hosted Les Schwab Night at the Races on Saturday July 24 and Gaylon Stewart won his first race of 2004 in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Super Stock Division. Duane Schosboek took home the winners trophy in the Randy’s Ring & Pinion NASCAR Street Stock Bomber Division while Nat Barber continued to dominate the NASCAR Mini-Stock Division. The Super Figure Eight Division had another repeat winner as John Carlson beat everyone to the checkers and many-time winner this season Troy Simianer won the Extreme Contact Figure Eight main. The new Stinger Eight class had their largest field of cars this season and Greg Estes survived for the win.

After spending two years racing with the NASCAR Auto Zone Elite Division Northwest Series where he was Rookie of the Year and two years on the dirt at Skagit Speedway, Gaylon Stewart returned to Evergreen Speedway this season. Driving a NASCAR Super Stock on Saturday, Gaylon won his first race of the 2004 season as the series moved back onto the 3/8-mile oval. Doug Davidson finished second and point leader John Zaretzke third.

The Randy’s Ring & Pinion NASCAR Street Stock Bombers point battle for the Division Championship is still up for grabs as point leader Naima Lang finished a disappointing seventeenth. Main event winner Duane Schosboek grabbed his second win of the season while Craig Rowalt had his best finish in second and Tim Davis was third.

The NASCAR Mini-Stock Division has been dominated by point leader Nat Barber and Saturday did not change that. Nat continued on with his winning ways beating Tony Bunkleman and Stacey Alseth.

The three Figure Eight Divisions were back in action on Les Schwab Night and Cowboy John Carlson made another visit to Victory Stage in the Super Division beating point leader Steve Peters and Jerry Funden. In the Extreme Contact Division Troy Simianer continued to keep everyone at bay by winning again. Steve Peters had another second and Josh Beckel third. New to the figure eight are the Stinger Eights and Greg Estes hung on for a win while Bill Wade was second and Ken Higby was third.

Next up at Evergreen Speedway on Saturday July 31 is the Dodge 100 for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Super Stocks on the 3/8-mile oval. The Randy’s Ring & Pinion NASCAR Street Stock Bombers will continue their run for the championship as will the three Figure Eight Divisions.
