IRWINDALE, California -- Irwindale Super Late Model driver, Chris Oddo will make his NASCAR Grand National Division West Series debut driving the #32 Make-A-Wish/Race Performance Training Center Chevrolet. Oddo has been driving for the past two years in the Super Late Model series and most recently has recorded two top-ten finishes.

“I’m really excited to be racing in a series with such great drivers,” said Oddo. “This is a great opportunity for us as a team. It’s great to have West Series driver, Steve Portenga on board as our Crew Chief. He brings to the team considerable knowledge and experience in this series. We know we will have to be patient and feel we can have a decent finish at our home track. Our goal is to do well and also race in the West Series event at Phoenix later this season.”

“We are proud to have as a race partner, the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” Oddo continued. “As many fans know, my family owns and operates the Performance Race Training Center at the Irwindale Speedway and we have a number of specially constructed race cars with passenger seats for ride-alongs. A couple of years ago, we were asked to make two little sick boy’s wish come true of riding in a NASCAR race car. Well, we suited them up and I gave them a ride on the Irwindale Speedway track. They really had a great time.”

On race night, the team will be hosting 20 very special guests for the race event. Sybox holders Dalcorp and Gilbanks Engineering have donated their luxury suites for these VIPs. The guests will enjoy a catered party and meet Oddo and members of the team prior to the main event.

The team has partnered up with a number of great sponsors. The team wants to thank Ladco, GR Underground, K & N Filters, PFF Bank & Trust, Lee Ladd, and Ruark Racing for their support in this project. They have all come through for the kids and our team. Special thanks go to Joe Oddo and the team at Race Performance Training Center.

The NAPA AUTO PARTS 150 will run Saturday, July 31st at the Irwindale Speedway with track activities beginning at 5:30. The NAPA AUTO PARTS 150 will be televised live on HDNET beginning at 7:30 pm PST and will be rebroadcast on SPEED Channel on Saturday, September 11th at 9 am PST. Please check you local listing.
